Tanning Tips

When coming for your spray tan appointment, it is important that you follow our pre advice to ensure your finished result is flawless.

  • Make sure you exfoliate 12-24 hours before your tan – removing dead skin and exsisting tan allows the spray to provide an even coverage that sinks into the skin - avoiding sticking to drier patches.
  • Try and remove deodorant, body moisturiser and make up before your tan – some of these products block the spray from developing. If you don’t have time before your appointment, we have products for you to use in the salon.
  • Any hair removal should be carried out 24 hours before a spray tan.
  • Wear loose, dark clothing which you don’t mind getting marks on. St Tropez is really good for washing out of bed linen and clothes, but just incase, don’t say we didn’t warn you!
  • We provide you with paper pants, but if you would be more comfortable wearing your own underwear, feel free.
  • After your tan, try and make sure you have an evening or day free. There is a developing colour which can be quite dark and dirty looking. You also want to avoid getting wet, whether it be from washing dishes or walking in the rain, it will wash off the developing tan which needs to be left on for 8-12 hours.
  • To ensure your tan lasts longer, moisturise daily to keep your skin supple and soft. After 5-7 days gently exfoliate to ensure your tan fades evenly. We recommend the St tropez exfoliator and moisturiser which we have in the salon.
